But my day has been far from just work; I did some stretching exercises, went on a very long leisurely walk, (yes, with my camera.) I met some more children, "Doe Doe", Catherine, and Christopher are some names I remember, and then I took LOTS and LOTS of video of the Stepping Out Missions Crew as the installed the bridge over the river that they had built. (purpose of the bridge, so the farmers can get to their fields they are developing, as a commercial farm. It's big and getting BIGGER.)
Now, that was fascinating. Boy, do I wish MDOT could see these fellows work! The efficiency of the team, the cost controls, the speed in which they worked, the quality of work makes me wish we had more men like this working on our nation's highways! What a blessing it's been to me to meet these fine men, and SHIRLEY, crew leader's wife who FEEDS them EVERYDAY! (John and Shirley spent 21/2 YEARS on the MISSISSIPPI COAST/ being from Ohio. They call Mississippi HOME. You got to like folks like that, right?
That's John, adopted Mississippi and he's one we want to keep! |
Meet "DoeDoe" He was finding a pan full of some kind of insect to eat. |
How encouraging to see what John and Shirley are doing in Liberia....and what a sweet connection for a Mississippi girl like you to experience. God is so faithful, especially in the details. Keep resting in Him. I love you,k
