This Morning In God's Garden

This morning I "cut" chapel.  I don't have classes today, and I felt a real need for private devotions.  At 6:45 I left with camera in hand (smile) and headed for the hills.  It was overcast; a gentle breeze blew, and I was alone I was able to sing, reflect and talk out loud to God.  For an extrovert, I don't need A LOT of ALONE time, but when I need it, it's a REAL NEED.
" And He walks with me and He talks with me"  Maybe this isn't the best song for public worship (I've been told that) but it was a song I was taught early in my life that has special memories attached to it.  I think as I sang it this morning, God understood my heart.  That was fun!
Signs of a Yekepa of yesteryear are dotted all along the landscape.  "Shells"  "ghosts of the past" seem to speak from ruins such as  these.  It's fun to imagine, for that's all you can do: IMAGINE, until you listen to those who were here BEFORE that awful war!

  1. Beautiful photos today, Val...so glad you were able to "come to the garden alone !" Regardless of someone's opinion of music, there is much to be said for the memories that can be evoked by a simple song. Glad you were able to enjoy the view and the majesty of His creation..It is also very beautiful today on the Miss. Gulf Coast...I'm praying for you and I love you,k

  2. I'm trying again to comment. Don't know why they don't show up for me. kathie made a nice comment. Have you been hearing the news from Japan and Lybia? You have to be very busy with your present teaching and work in Africa. Love that you and your students have learned to love each other.
    Love you,
